Make a difference

At the Indigenous Marathon Foundation, we deliver five programs across Australia focused on running and physical literacy built on the premise that:

    • Every session builds resilience.
    • Every kilometre or activity builds confidence.
    • Every participant learns leadership skills.
    • Every step forward is about developing leaders and role models.
Your participation is an investment into nurturing First Nations leaders who create ripple effects of change.

Get started in three steps

1. Register

Register and choose how you’ll complete your 42.2km (or more) - walk, run, roll or move in your own way!

2. Spread the love

Rally support from friends and family to raise funds and help IMF nurture First Nations leaders.

3. Go for gold

In September, go the distance, hit your fundraising target, and leave your limits behind.

Each participant will automatically be put into the draw to win one of two ASICS prize packs valued at over $200. The prize packs were kindly donated by our national partner ASICS. Each pack contains:

Follow the Indigenous Marathon Project Journey

The Indigenous Marathon Project selects 12 First Nations squad members each year from all over Australia. Anyone can apply, you don't have to be a runner.

In the six-month program, the squad will run five official races taking them to Ngunnawal and Ngambri country, Yugambeh Country, Kabi Kabi Country, Arrernte Country and finally to New York City.

Your challenge is to run, walk or roll the same journey. Log your exercise and track your progress on your map.
