Why I’m Running

I’ve signed up for the Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) Virtual Run this September because I really love what the IMF stands for, giving Indigenous Australians opportunities through running, while supporting physical health, personal growth, confidence and connection.

Working in a school where 27% of our students are Indigenous makes it even more meaningful to me. I’d love nothing more than to see our students become part of a future IMF squad and experience that journey for themselves.

This year, my colleague is an IMF squad member and is currently training for the New York City Marathon. I’ve loved following his journey so far, and hearing about the hard work, dedication and personal growth he’s experienced along the way has been incredibly inspiring. I’m really looking forward to hearing more about his journey and seeing where it takes him.

I also loved watching The Long Run, which followed the 2025 IMF squad on their journey towards running the New York City Marathon. It was so inspiring to see everyone’s individual journeys, the challenges they faced, the determination they showed and how much they grew along the way. It really gave me an even greater appreciation for what the IMF is all about and the impact these opportunities can have.

So, this September, I’m running for something bigger than myself. 🖤💛❤️

I’ll be taking on 42.2km (hopefully more!) as part of the Virtual Run, a marathon distance across the month, one run at a time. 🏃‍♀️

I’d love your support in helping me raise funds for the Indigenous Marathon Foundation. Every donation helps support the incredible work they do to empower Indigenous Australians through running and create opportunities for positive change.

Thank you for supporting me, and more importantly, for supporting the incredible work of the IMF. 🏃‍♀️🖤💛❤️
